Growing It Out!

I've been doing my research [ever since I chopped my hair off] on how I could make my hair grow. And make it grow fast! Here are a few things I've come up with to help speed up the process of growing your hair out!

1. Brushing. Finding the right brush! Last thing you want is to pull your hair put, causing breakage and even more damage. You need to be able to stimulate your scalp. Give back your natural oils, it will naturally nourish itself. You wanna focus on the scalp mainly. Like I said before the last thing you wanna do is cause more breakage to your hair.

2. Vitamins. A friend of mine when she was pregnant told me about pre-natal vitamins, I didn't know that even though I wasn't trying to have any kids that I could still take them. I'm now obsessed with them. Along with other vitamins, biotin included in those. Whichever vitamin you chose, make sure to drink plenty of water for them to dissolve well, and digest well. Try to keep them at near sight every morning to make sure you take them daily.

3. Exercise. When one works out, we sweat. Our blood is pumping and it's heating up. I realized that when I worked out the most and went for long runs in the summer, my hair grew out so much. It must be all the blood rush. If you can add some cardio daily, you can allow your hair to grow along with shedding a few pounds. Eating healthy is another way. You want to make sure you are eating enough fats, carbs and protein. Hair is largely composed of keratin, a protein made up of amino acids. To grow new hair, your body must produce more amino acids. Which comes from the protein we intake. Healthy protein foods include lean meat, fish, eggs, nuts, beans, and soy products. Barely eating or not eating at all can cause hair loss. Why not growing your hair out and losing weight all at the same time? It's all really a win-win situation.

4. Head Massager. Along with brushing your hair, it allows you to stimulate the scalp. Natural oils and a rush of blood helps with hair growth. Have you ever just shaved, walked out into the cold and felt your hair stand up? Somehow already feeling prickly as if you hadn't just shaved? Irritating right? If only hair on our head grew that quick! Well the way the goosebumps you get on your legs or arms work, its the same with the head. Plus it feels really good and it completely relaxes you.

5. Treatments. Whether you are using diy home hair treatments or splurging in expensive products, its important to know what your hair needs. does it need protein? or does it need moisture? I recommend going to a hairstylist for them to get a feel on what your hair needs. If your hair has been over-processed (like mine was) or chemically processed, you need protein to add the strength back into your hair. If its dry and/or dull it needs moisture to bring it back to life. So you need to know whether you need one or the other. It's important to know what you're aiming to cure.

Well here you go, a few tricks here and there to help you grow your hair out. Hope it helped! I'll be keeping track of my hair growth as well! Good luck!
